Fragile

Fragile
Like a feather
falling
Onto concrete
A glimpse
Of colors
Her necklace
At the hospital
Birthing
my beautiful daughter
The mountain biker
Hopping
Down a hill
A runner
His pace
So in synch, so intoxicating
His limbs
Pulse
My loins
For a moment
I forget
The feeling
Of concrete
Under my feathers

Big Black Sunglasses

Today I put on my big black sunglasses

To travel:
By train
By plane
By a stream of my consciousness

I sip red tea, fearing that I am disposable,
Like an old toy
He doesn’t want anymore.

I imagine a road; a heaven
winding with mixes of green
There, my arms around him.

The wind against our face
Scooting through old brick ruins
Scented by the sea.

It’s hot,
We stop at a cafe
and sip red tea with mint-

I take off my big black sunglasses

A Try at Haibun

I am not alone

I am around many who are also considering their own journeys.
There is a part of me that is going through what each person around me is experiencing.

We are all connected and all worthy of being heard.

We all want to be loved,
Find ourselves,
Set boundaries,
feel compassion,
And feel intimacy.

Asking Nature

Oh green perfect leaf,
You look like a star
Please bring me peace and meditation.

Oh mossy stick,
You look like a furry stuffed animal
Please bring me the ability to be less hard on my self.

Oh mossy rock,
You look like a wise soul
Please bring me the knowledge to recognize my life’s true work.

My Journey is Filled with Redwoods

My journey is filled with Redwoods
Uplifting: just be you.

The white dog runs back and forth
Scurrying with the birds he is present;
He is free.

Communication; that’s important
Am I enough?

The velvety moss soothes me
Fern tips: feathery, exciting.

Our footsteps like horse hoofs;
I’m thinking of them-
Senal, my Appaloosa.

Thoughts of a foal-
I want to help

All my energy:
Urging me to think, to do
Constantly.

The Earth, my mountain, my resource
I find courage to keep trying

My journey is filled with Redwoods
