Spring and Summer…

spring against my back
the vibrations
of a hummingbird

scrolling my page
a little black bug
observes my words

spring afternoon
a greeting
from the yard cat

she says goodbye-
rose petals
in the dirt

house finch
the wind chimes
through the garden

too much wine-
dizzy from all the birdsong
this summer morning

bickering in flight..
a blur of emerald and ruby
around the feeder

his arms around me
the mountain ridges-
a light pink sunset

waning moon
the silence
of a sleepless night

never wanting
to change itself
desert rose

separate rooms-
a distance greater
then the moon

these days
the only happiness
at my bird feeder

shards of glass
how quickly I pull away
from his touch

my tears…
rose petals
against a pond

garden buddha
in its palms
fallen petals

spring morning my thoughts drifting bumblebee

worn out
faded patches
of sky
I sit hidden beneath
a blooming tree

tiny fountain
the stillness
of a fern

walking outside
a melody of wind chime
over and over
a deep longing to love
myself a little more

Where Has My Inspiration Gone?

Where has my inspiration gone?
Away with the hawk cry
Perched on top of the Redwoods

Lost in the summer sunsets
Wild pink and blue fires
That faded into a billion stars

How could I turn my back on you?

The moment I watched
Tiny grey and black sparrows
Bathing in an old fountain

Moved to tears-
Their simple joy
And sweet vibrations

The young buck deep in the forest
We stared at each other
Eyes as curious as mine

I thought of Claude and knew God was near

The black squirrel
Bounding and dancing
Through the branches of aged Oaks

Where has my inspiration gone?

Only wandering…

Hawk cry,
Wild sunsets,
Curious buck,
Black squirrel

Claude’s last breath…

In God
In Me.

Summer Solstice

honey moon
just like me
alone in its light…

midnight-
the honey moon
rolls down her cheeks

evening breeze
the leaves of a maple
just let go

evening breeze the way it rolls sparrow song

wind through the trees
wave after wave
of ocean

mountain wind
I strum a tune
of ocean blues

mountain road
leading the way
a single bluejay

mid-afternoon
the monarch
that came to visit

first light of morning
an orchestra of bird song
tuning up treetops

azure sky
hummingbird and I
dance in rainbows

rosemary-
the way the sun sets
across her back
